ConstitutionDAO raised $45M in less than a week to buy the Constitution at the Sotheby’s auction. CEO of Citadel Ken Griffin’s bid of $41M ended up being the winner, but the DAO got a lot of coverage, including from New York Times. DAO didn’t go over $41M due to auction house fees and storage costs. Nevertheless, it made history. It became the largest crowdfund for a physical object, and most money was crowdfunded in 72 hours. Surprisingly, it was the first ETH transaction of ~20% of the 17,437 contributors. 👉 Read More
